Our Bright and Colourful Edible Paint

This week we had one of our super special sessions – ‘My First ARTventure’ which is a gentle introduction into our sparkly, colourful, often messy classes for babies aged 3-6months. I took along our fabulous edible paint which went down a treat with both our teeny artists and their mummy’s! So i thought I would share our super easy recipe with you all 🙂

Edible paint recipe

1 cup of corn flour 1/2 cup of cold water

2 cups of boiling water

Liquid food colouring

Method: Mix the cornflour with the cold water and stir together. Pour in the boiling water and stir between each cup. It goes really strange but keep stirring and it turns into a custardy type consistency. If you aren’t getting the right consistency try a little bit more cornflour or put it over the heat on your hob to warm it up a little whilst stirring. Now your ready to separate into individual containers and stir in a drop or two of food colouring to colour.

Now its time to have lots of colourful creative, messy, painty fun! Just like one of our teeny artists 🙂
